    Pennsylvania is commonly divided into five major and two minor river basins. The five major basins are the Delaware, the Great Lakes, the Ohio, the Potomac and the Susquehanna. The two minor basins are the Elk and Northeast and the Gunpowder.     Water Quality Monitoring in the White Clay Creek National Wild & Scenic River Watershed in Delaware and Pennsylvania White Clay Creek is protected by the United States Federal Government as a result of its designation under the Wild and Scenic Rivers System by the National Park Service.
